Visualization

Visualization is a form of mental and emotional training that restructures the mind. Simply put, it prepares your subconscious to more readily see and respond to opportunities that otherwise may have gone unnoticed.

This practice has been strengthened through biomechanics research, that revealed the brain is not able to determine the difference between reality, memory and vivid imagination. The exact same neural pathways are sparked when you actually see something as when you remember or visualize it as happening. And the more senses you engage to create these vivid images, the more brain activity you stimulate.

I use visualization techniques with my personal training clients. I ask them to use their imagination for 5 minutes each day to visualize the life they  desire. I then instruct them to see the benefits of this life – greater happiness, health, satisfaction and meaningful relationships. Finally once they have begun to see and hold the bigger picture I ask them to start taking small steps towards those visions.

Seeing where you want to go, feeling it within your mind and body make the path to getting there so much easier!

Imagination is the beginning of creation. We imagine what we desire, we “will” what we imagine, and at last we create what we “will.”

Curiosity

There’s nothing like a healthy sense of wonder to keep life feeling like a great adventure. Curiosity allows us to gain fresh perspectives and gives us a new lens to look at the world. Our wonder helps us to stay present as we experience the unfolding of life and make new connections.

Nurturing a childlike sense of curiosity is just what we need to stay interested and energized by our daily lives. Studies in positive psychology have shown that when we remain open and engaged in life we feel happier and more satisfied. We’re also more likely to build stronger relationships and find greater meaning in the things we do.

If we can keep a beginner’s mind in everyday situations we stay open to new possibilities and approach life without preconceptions. So discover what fascinates you and explore new subjects to see what stimulates your mind.

When approach everyday experiences with a greater sense of interest we learn to enjoy the unexpected and delight in all that life has to offer!
