5 ways – invest in yourself

We often think the best ways to improve our life are become happier exist outside of us, somewhere out there, but this is rarely true. Investing time and effort into yourself and a greater understanding are the most beneficial efforts a person can take on.

Sometimes when we feel we are going through a rough spot we need to simply sit with ourselves and our emotions to take focus on what is really going on. More often than not we find that the things we are upset about are not always so bad, or they are simply out of our control and we have to find peace with that. Sometimes we have to look past what others in our life are doing or may not be doing and focus on taking positive action in our own life instead.

When we invest in ourselves we begin to make our own life more satisfying and take the pressure off others to be our source of happiness, plus by taking care of our own needs in life we are able to help and give to others when the time comes. We have all heard the story of adults putting on the oxygen mask first in airplane emergencies so they can help there children put on theirs – life works the same way. . . we can not give away that which we do not possess our self.

This week has been a discussion about 5 ways to improve the quality of your life experience and whether you sneak a little play time into work day, notice something new about a loved one, or cheer a friend on it’s the little acts of compassion and positivity that build more engagement, more appreciation and more resilience.

May you all have a great weekend and find your self replenished and reinvigorated. The opportunities for joy are everywhere we only need to be recognize for them!

Peace and Love, Jim
