Whether it is a tree being blown in by the wind, a child at play, or a horse in full gallop, a painter will invest time in studying his subject, and in some way enter into its nature before commencing.
We too could benefit from such a process. The contemplation and recognition of form and thought has been an invaluable tool for various profession over hundreds of years, yet how many of us engage this simple method in our day-to-day lives? It seems that becoming reactionary has become the standard behavior for most of us.
Yet when we can stop and focus on the subject or situation at hand as it arises out of life and into our conscience we give ourselves a pause, a space in which we can be flexible and adaptable enough to be able to rearrange our thinking. This small pause allows us to see, feel and touch more than what our reactionary habits permit.
So today instead of simply reacting to the day become engaged with it, want it and try to become one with each moment and circumstance. When we engage our life in this manner we power to our thoughts and the potential to transform our world and everything in it – we become painters of our own beautiful masterpiece.
