Making Memories

The mind is capable of some amazing feats. I think the most amazing thing is that our minds don’t have a limit on the number of memories they contain. It is only based on our ability to give them something worth remembering!

I have noticed the patterns in my own memories. Most of my memories are made up of major events, challenges, breakthroughs, and vacations. WIthin them are sprinkled a many random inspirational moments and some new traditions created with friends and family.

Memories don’t require much of an investment other than time and a willingness to create them with others. The best memories rarely cost anything but do require and investment of time and love.

I believe any event (even mundane ones) can be something special. So, let’s take the mundane things and do them differently. Let’s not be afraid to spend our time, to invest in the present and do something memorable. Let’s all take the long way home today!

Learning life

So I thought it would be great to end the week with a little humor gathered over the years from life, conversations and “over heard” moments!

1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
2. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
3. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.
4. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.
5. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
6. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood.
7. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
8. Frame everything in life with these words: “In five years, will this matter?
9. What other people think of you is none of your business.
10. Growing old beats the alternative — dying young.
11. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

12. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
13. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
14. If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
15. Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.

Have a great weekend!

Peace and Love, Jim
