I was walking around the yard the other day doing my weekly visit to the garden and checking in on all the plants about the yard. Last year we added a Crawling Jasmine to our patio area in hopes of it trellising up and forming a natural screen.

It has done very well this year with each tendril reaching for the sun and spreading like a lush vertical carpet of greenery. Seeing it’s growth and vigor caused me some introspection into our own lives and growth.

We each are the living vine of our home, we grow and flourish in every nook and cranny. Our creativity and personality are a bouquet of colors, our breath is the sweet scent of the bloom, our body is the vehicle for growth. Our roots stabilize, our stems and branches protect and shield, even though. Like the vine we grow in and around everything, creating a rich, lush canopy that can shelter and nourish.

Everything about us no matter how small matters. Every tendril we put out, every grasp at the next wire and every flower we put forth matters. Everything we do creates a world. Every nuance of who we are, every quirk, eccentricity- the songs we hum, the way we smile, the whole contour of your being… is completely and utterly meaningful.

Like the vine, we send tendrils of our self in every direction. We set the tone, our uniqueness grows something unique, different, distinct, something that breathes life into every nook and cranny.

So reach, grow and take root in this life for you create it as you grow with it!
