A Positive Shift . . .

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the challenges and fail to see how much beauty and happiness IS present in our lives.

One way to bring more awareness to the good things instead of just the bad is to share the day’s highlights. Keep in mind that this is NOT to brag, but is about appreciating and celebrating the positive experiences we have each day.

Make it a habit to become mindful of all of the positive experiences you have. See and feel all that’s good in your life.

Have a beautiful weekend and keep this quote in mind: “People are just about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” – Abraham Lincoln

Flex and Flow. . . .

Flex and Flow

Days come and days go. The world does not recognize change any more than fish knows it’s wet. The passing of time is inconsequential to nature because it simply is the way of life.

So why do we seem to struggle with days, with change and the passing of time? These are and should be quite natural for us as well since we have all know the passing of time and the winds of change since birth. Nothing in our life has ever stood still and yet many of us resist change as though we have found the perfect moment and do not wish to let go.

And there is the difficulty – thinking everything is just as should be and desiring that it stay that way. You could say it’s truly a human quality. Yet time passes and along with its march comes change. Change of heart, change of mind, change of spirit. When we resist we find life hard, uncomfortable and become disillusioned. So why take that route? Because it seems natural.

But as I started this out, IT IS NOT natural. So instead of dreading change and clinging to what was or what could be, learn to embrace each day with the mindset of change is natural, change is permanent, change is how life works and live within the framework of change. Live each day simply and do what the day may require without fear or clinging. Float down the stream, pause and float along further taking it all in and growing in the process.

When we learn to enjoy the ride of life instead of taking over and trying to drive life we become stronger and more resilient in the process, we learn to flex and flow through our days instead of regretting and being disappointed with them. This is genuine flexibility of the spirit. Flexibility in life means that you are open to ideas, open to new things, open to change. It means that if things don’t go the way you anticipate, you don’t react negatively. You let go, and move on. No dwelling. No fuming. No stewing. Just moving on as the world moves with you.

Have a beautiful Weekend!
