The fundamental spirit of Buddhism is that all people are equal. A person is not great simply because of his or her social standing, fame, academic background or position in this life. In the world of theBuddha, the truly great were those who spread the the concepts of self, examination, understanding and truth. Now as then, Buddhists actively work to spread understanding and support for the happiness of others.
There is no need to seek recognition for such mindsets and energies for in the light of their very nature each and all shine a much needed light of grace and understanding for all.
