Answers. . .
The smartest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with have tended to ask more questions than anything. Many times, I got the feeling they knew the answers, but they asked questions anyway.
One professor I had did this to an extreme. When I asked him why, he told me that 9 times out of 10, even when he knew the answer, there was something about the answer that he didn’t fully understand and that asking the question helped solidify for him.
Answers themselves are rarely even answers anyway. They are rarely the whole story. Usually, answers show themselves to be merely the preamble to a deeper question, which we didn’t bother to ask before. Part of being successful is about asking questions and listening to the answers.
When we seek answers we seek more than knowledge – A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery. Today carve out a quiet interlude for yourself in which to understand, knowledge in hand. Only understanding gives birth to change.
Peace and Love, Jim
