Bend. . .

A bend in the road is not the end of the road… unless you fail to make the turn.

Life is full of twists and turns, and the older I become, the more I realize that you can never anticipate all of them. I know that no matter how well I plan and organize, I must always be ready for unforeseen bends in my road.

The crucial element for a successful life is to know that nothing will ever go 100% as planned, and we must be prepared for the inevitable changes that we will encounter. It reminds me of the old idiom ‘The best-laid plans of mice and men oft times go astray.’ Yes, planning is crucial, and we should have clear goals and agendas, but those who are the best planners also plan for contingencies realizing that rarely does life goes according to plan.

We have to understand that is ok. There will be bends in our road of life, but that is not the end of the road unless we fail to make the turn.

Think about your trek of life as analogous to a rough mountain trail. We will have steep uphill climbs and many twists and turns. We will have to forge through rushing rivers, but we will also come to flat, smooth plateaus where our trek is easy. We must be prepared for all the terrains on our trek of life. When we understand this, we will not be surprised and adapt and change as needed.

Indeed, we can and should enjoy the journey with its ups and downs as we do navigate through our life. Push on, enjoy your journey, and be blessed with each day.

Peace and Love, Jim
