“Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything – anger, anxiety, or possessions – we cannot be free.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

We don’t need to rely on outside factors to make us happy. By clinging onto anything, we remain fixed and unable to change. True freedom means accepting the transient nature of everything.

Only then can we understand the liberating notion that it’s impossible to hold onto anything. What we can do is embrace the present moment as best we can and allow ourselves the opportunity to grow and improve. Buddhism teaches that joy and happiness arise from letting go… There are things we hang on to that really are not useful and deprive us of our freedom. Find the courage to let them go and you find a lighter more loving approach to your days.

Peace and Love, Jim
