We often think of harmony on grand world and social levels, but how can we achieve family harmony, which represents world peace in miniature?

First, we ourselves must strive to be a bright, sunny presence in our homes, enfolding all our family members in the light of compassion.

Second, we need to respect one another, recognizing that the family ties between parent and child, or between spouses or partners, are karmic bonds enduring throughout the three existences of past, present and future.

Third, we need to make a positive contribution to not just our homes but society and work to foster meaning and purpose in society and others and  who will do likewise.

But guess what? none of these things can even begin to occur until we work we ourselves. I personally learned that changing myself is the key to transforming everything. My relationships changed when I decided to take full responsibility for everything in my life, to no longer be a victim of my circumstances and to find compassion for myself and others.

I still have a lot more work to do, but I am forever grateful to my understanding and my practice, which has empowered me to transform my karma. This daily post you are reading right now is my energy and efforts to foster capable minds and hearts who will contribute to the betterment of the world.Such change does not happen overnight nor does it happen with just one person in one moment, but it does happen and with each collective effort we transform not only our own individual moments but life as a whole.

Peace and Love, Jim
