New Days. . .
Autopilot in life as discussed can have some value in daily life. Much of our days are filled with routines of necessity and we have naturally over the years streamlined these tasks (always seek balance and presence) but, a large portion of it is negative and self-defeating. For most, only a small fraction of those thoughts are nourishing and uplifting. Autopilot does become an issue when we ruminate or think the majority of our thoughts over and over again. Our thoughts cause us to feel a certain way and behave in certain ways. They influence people, things, and events. With this in mind, it becomes easier to understand why we tend to keep having the same experiences over and over. We can put an end to this cycle of stressful situations and negative thoughts by taking control of our thinking and deliberately choosing better thoughts. Positive thinking affirmations are one way that enables us to do this. I have always been a very driven individual in both work and personal endeavors. I had to truly learn not only balance but to also recognize my efforts and steps taken forward – my own personal victories both large and small. To tell myself – Nice effort Jim! Science tells us that it is possible to alter the connections in our brains and create new connections. This is why affirmations work; they train the mind to think, see, and interpret things in new ways for new days.
Peace and Love, Jim
