We must understand and seek to balance the relationship between our faith and out intellect.

Faith is the ultimate essence of intellect. Through the practice of correct faith, the intellect comes to shine. Intellect without faith lacks a firm anchor in the soil of life and eventually becomes disordered. Many modern thinkers suffer from what is termed “higher psychosis.”

Faith without intellect, meanwhile, leads to fanaticism and an unbalanced sensibility that often is utilized to justify invalid behaviors, beliefs and more. Faith or intellect alone – one without the other is unhealthy and like many things in this life we should take care to find balance between our faith and our intellect.

We should not pretend to understand the world only by the intellect. The judgement of the intellect is only as powerful as our faith in the values of compassion, understanding and betterment for all.

Peace and Love, Jim
