How do we control our emotions? How do we stop getting angry so often, or how do we stop being sad?

I think there’s a really important distinction to understand –  you can’t completely control your emotions. What we CAN control with much better dexterity is our reaction to our own emotions. Many people never make that separation for what goes on with them and within their lives. Maybe we should make the shift, after all The Buddha taught understanding this very concept of reactions and what causes them.

Joy comes when manipulation stops; when we think more about our reactions unto ourselves and others. When we dare to reveal ourself fully and become strong in the face of our own reactions.

Peace and Love, Jim
