Ever heard of synchoncity? Yes, its a tad more than a song by The Police!
Synchronicities are moments in time in which there is a fissure in the fabric of what we have taken for reality and there is a cross over from higher concepts outside of time. Synchronicities are expressions of the nature of reality, as they are moments in time when the timeless nature of the universe shines forth its radiance and openly reveals itself to us, offering us an open doorway twosome greater levels of understanding.
A buddhist would say we are simply exploring the vast depths of mind, understanding and the gateways we can open within.
Jung was a pioneer on the topic of synchronicity and the topic is vast so I encourage an interested readers to explore the topic more deeply for insights, meditation subjects and a more complete understanding of our selves and the mind as a whole.
Jung’s entire psychology has a profoundly holistic character, and his concept of synchronicity has a fundamental role to play in supporting this orientation. Synchronistic events disclose deep interconnections between mind and body, between one person and another, between humans and the natural world; even, it seems to some, between humans and a reality transcending the ordinary empirical world. For the appearance of corresponding patterns of meaning in contexts that, so far as we are able to discern, are causally unconnected can suggest that there is a superordinate level of reality that in some sense is unitary.
Synchronicities are like “abstract ideas” which create and enrich our understanding and bigger picture. Like a bug in the system, synchronicities are cultures which virally propagate themselves through the field of consciousness, which means that synchronistic awareness is contagious. Synchronistic awareness, the consciousness that recognizes the synchronistic nature of the universe and has become lucid in the dream of life, is something we can turn each other onto and catch from one another. Synchronistic awareness is the invocation and revelation of the “eternal presence of the one creative act” in which we are all continually sharing, partaking and participating. Synchronistic awareness activates and reproduces itself in and through the field, as it is self-generating in nature, which is to say it is birthing itself through our consciousness into the world.
It is a vast and personal topic. We can engage these concepts and abstractions through meditation and come to know the vast ideas and complexities of their life may have personal flavors and moments but are universally shared by us all. Through the forest we all walk but each step is uniquely ours to understand and experience.
Peace and Love, Jim
