Where? What? Why?

Many religions across time have developed stories, canons and other methods and means for explaining their beliefs. their origins and other parts of their belief systems. The Buddha was no different except where he instructed people to look for such answers. . .

Where is the Holiest Place on Earth for Buddhists? “The holiest place in the universe is in your mind. In there you will find the teachings and understandings that eve the way to Buddhood.” – The Buddha

Where is the home and base for all teachings of Buddhism? You’ll find them in your own mind (Buddha), speech (Dharma) and activities (Sangha.) Buddha, himself, cautioned his disciples against considering any place or item (relic) as Holy.

While it is true that the Buddha specifically spoke that there is merit in visiting “Holy” pilgrimage places, that does not mean these places are Holiest. The Buddha simply stated – If you are looking for the “Holiest” place, look no further than your own mind. You can make a pilgrimage through meditation every day this way.”

Daily Buddhists take Refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha. Where do we find these Three Precious Jewels. According to The Buddha, “The holiest place in the universe is in your mind. In there you will find the your answers.”
